Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely Mill. We all had a lovely time watching and waving at all of the trains as they passed by. You made us feel so welcome and provided everything for an enjoyable stay. The BBQ made the icing on the cake. I'm sure we'll be back soon. Many thanks The Deans and Norths.

Thank you Cheryl for warm welcome, especially for your humorous response to our initial enquiry. When we gave you the 'third degree'. The accommodation is very clean, spacious and plenty of surfaces to spread our 'tat'. Every walk we've done has been spectacular and varied. We will be back to absorb more of the peace and quiet. Chris and Anna.

A lovely stay and a wonderful welcome. Loads of places to visit too numerous to mention. The Castle and museum to name a couple and in easy reach of the coast. Not to forget the Railway well worth a trip. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. Would recommend. Ros and Derek.

We were a group of ladies away for a nice weekend. Cheryl couldn't do enough to help in the run up to the weekend. She even offered to accept delivery of the on-line shop and put it away for us before we arrived.
Mill House is brilliant. Very clean, well appointed rooms, each with it own en-suite. The setting is fantastic, very relaxing weekend. Thanks for a brilliant weekend. We'll definitely be back. Lisa and friends from Leeds.

As a large party of ladies on an activity-packeded hen weekend, we needed somewhere big and spacious to stay, which was in a handy location. This place fitted the bill perfectly. It was spacious enough that even with 12 of us it never felt crowded. Everything was spotless and well presented and the facilities were fabulous, particularly the en-suite bathrooms in every room and the outside sitting and garden area. The kitchen was also incredibly well equipped, met all our needs and we were very happy about the presence of a fully-functioning diswasher - It saved many an argument!  - Cooker could have been larger - cooking for 12 was dificult. - All in all a fantastic property. Thank you very much for giving us a fantastic Stay. Kath, and friends from Co.Durham. 04/07/10

We've just spent the weekend here for hen do and have loved the house. It is spotless with all the equipment/little touches you could hope for. Outside seating area was lovely, we enjoyed waving to the trains tho. Absolutely no complaints, we had a great time, enjoyed the house and would recommend it to anyone else coming to this area. A great place to stay helping to make it a cracking weekend for the 12 of us. Very comfortable, excellent hot water system (essential!) and the added bonus of quality British heavy engineering only a couple of yards away! Mike and Cheryl both very helpful and friendly, would recommend to anyone. Thanks Ali's Stag Newcastle. 27/09/2010

(On 23 Dec at -16C, the mains water supply froze.  No water or central heating.  Two plumbers were here all day Christmas Eve. After a long, long day, with many bursts fixed, service was resumed at 8.30pm.  These guests were kept fully informed, but arrived at 4pm to only the solid fuel burner working)

After a difficult (and worrying- thinking we may have to go home) start, we've had a lovely stay, eventually it was nice and warm and cosy! We are a family of 12, the bedrooms were perfect with all the equipment and little touches we needed! The Lounge was cosy, especially the log fire - creating a homely atmosphere. Sadly we struggled to cater (especially to cook Christmas dinner!) for 12 in the kitchen area, not enough workspace, pans were insufficient and the oven needed to be a lot bigger. Overall we've had a great stay and will recommend to friends and family. Thanks. Carter and Moody family. Xmas 2010

( 3 New larger pans have been purchased and put in place, a fourth with 2 steamers is available on request. a Folding table is available. A second oven will be put in place as soon as is possible. I agree that work space is restricted. Not usually a problem if you use the table. Slightly easier in Summer. A Garden room/conservatory will be put up later this year, allowing it to be used as an extra dining room over Xmas and New Year.)

Had a fantastic New year holiday with great friends. Brilliant accommodation for all families and kids. Kids loved watching the trains and waving as they chuffed past. Just managed with kitchen facilities - loved sitting round the table. Felt very welcome and toys and Christmas touches were very much appreciated. Big Thanks to Mike and Cheryl. Hope to return. Now that the dust has settled from a fantastic weekend can I, on behalf of all of us, thank you and your husband so much for both trusting twelve blokes to hire your unbelieveable premises and also for the warm hospitality you both showed us.Our group has spent the last forty or so years in London on this particular weekend but change had to come eventually and we all feel so lucky that we found you. High Mill really is the most idyllic setting for a holiday weekend. Everything was immaculate, the facilities second to none and even the weather performed wonderfully. Sitting in the garden on Saturday morning waving at the steam trains and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the surroundings was an absolute pleasure. Most importantly from your point of view, however, is the fact that everything we could possibly need was made available to us. The ease with which all those full English breakfasts were cooked, kept warm and then devoured was a testament to the kitchen and all its equipment. On Friday night we enjoyed a choice of chicken curry, chille con carne and corned beef hash and once again the kitchen made preparing and serving it so easy. It was also wonderful that we could all sit round the table and enjoy the meals together. Believe me, the High Mill was the subject of the toast on numerous occasions!                                                                                                                                                                   The bedrooms were immaculate and again well equipped with everyone enjoying the superb en suite facilities. It has to be said that after a night of sampling the local hostelries we would probably have slept well anyway but the beds were extremely comfortable and bedrooms spacious and beautifully decorated. Just exquisite!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           It hardly needs saying that as soon as I get the date for next year's April Wetherby race meeting I will be ringing to once again book the weekend. Simply can't wait!  John Malkin and the boys
