Thank you Mike & Cheryl for a fantastic stay. We have loved every minute. Great Location and facilities. We all want to come back very soon. Cheryl gave me some great recommendations and was very helpful emailing me before our visit. (Claire and her 9 hens, Mar 13)
Fab ladies came to celebrate a special birthday and met by fabulous house! Everything you could need to make the weekend special. Would come again & again & again. Thanks for fab week. (Caroline and party, Mar 13)
Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our weekend. The house is lovely and really well equipped. I loved the wet room! The children (old and young) found it a fab place for hide and seek! Do you think you'll invest in wi fi?
It was so handy to be able to walk into Pickering, we didn't use the car all weekend! I'm sure we'll be back,

“Fantastic accommodation with great facilities”
High Mill House is a lovely place to stay. Cheryl and Mike are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area, walks, bike rides, family friendly outings etc ... The standard of the accommodation and facilities is very high and the facilities for those staying with young children are particularly good (travel cots, toys, black out blinds, step stools for the bathrooms, high chairs etc). Having the steam railway right next door makes it a fantastic location for young (and not so young!) train enthusiasts. The station is also just up the road. There are lots of great activities for families nearby including castles, beaches and the dalby forest. Just a slight word of warning to parents of very little ones. The NYMR does run some evening Pullman services on Fri and Sat eves which came through Pickering at nine and as with daytime services stop outside the house briefly before resuming their journeys. These did disturb our baby although not her older sibling and cousin who slept through the whole thing both nights! (Rosie, Holmfirth, June 2012)
Mrs Potter prides herself on very high standard of underlying cleanliness, both proprieties cleaned and
prepared for guest arrivals. Excellent standards remain - commendable in such a large property as High Mill
House. (from 2012 Quality in Tourism inspector's report)
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely Mill. We all had a lovely time watching and waving at all of the trains as they passed by. You made us feel so welcome and provided everything for an enjoyable stay. The BBQ made the icing on the cake. I'm sure we'll be back soon. Many thanks The Deans and Norths.
Thank you Cheryl for warm welcome, especially for your humorous response to our initial enquiry. When we gave you the 'third degree'. The accommodation is very clean, spacious and plenty of surfaces to spread our 'tat'. Every walk we've done has been spectacular and varied. We will be back to absorb more of the peace and quiet. Chris and Anna.
A lovely stay and a wonderful welcome. Loads of places to visit too numerous to mention. The Castle and museum to name a couple and in easy reach of the coast. Not to forget the Railway well worth a trip. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. Would recommend. Ros and Derek.
We were a group of ladies away for a nice weekend. Cheryl couldn't do enough to help in the run up to the weekend. She even offered to accept delivery of the on-line shop and put it away for us before we arrived.
Mill House is brilliant. Very clean, well appointed rooms, each with it own en-suite. The setting is fantastic, very relaxing weekend. Thanks for a brilliant weekend. We'll definitely be back. Lisa and friends from Leeds.
As a large party of ladies on an activity-packeded hen weekend, we needed somewhere big and spacious to stay, which was in a handy location. This place fitted the bill perfectly. It was spacious enough that even with 12 of us it never felt crowded. Everything was spotless and well presented and the facilities were fabulous, particularly the en-suite bathrooms in every room and the outside sitting and garden area. The kitchen was also incredibly well equipped, met all our needs and we were very happy about the presence of a fully-functioning diswasher - It saved many an argument! - Cooker could have been larger - cooking for 12 was dificult. - All in all a fantastic property. Thank you very much for giving us a fantastic Stay. Kath, and friends from Co.Durham. 04/07/10 (Note: Second oven installed to overcome this problem)
We've just spent the weekend here for hen do and have loved the house. It is spotless with all the equipment/little touches you could hope for. Outside seating area was lovely, we enjoyed waving to the trains tho. Absolutely no complaints, we had a great time, enjoyed the house and would recommend it to anyone else coming to this area. A great place to stay helping to make it a cracking weekend for the 12 of us. Very comfortable, excellent hot water system (essential!) and the added bonus of quality British heavy engineering only a couple of yards away! Mike and Cheryl both very helpful and friendly, would recommend to anyone. Thanks Ali's Stag Newcastle. 27/09/2010
Now that the dust has settled from a fantastic weekend can I, on behalf of all of us, thank you and your husband so much for both trusting twelve blokes to hire your unbelieveable premises and also for the warm hospitality you both showed us.Our group has spent the last forty or so years in London on this particular weekend but change had to come eventually and we all feel so lucky that we found you. High Mill really is the most idyllic setting for a holiday weekend. Everything was immaculate, the facilities second to none and even the weather performed wonderfully. Sitting in the garden on Saturday morning waving at the steam trains and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the surroundings was an absolute pleasure. Most importantly from your point of view, however, is the fact that everything we could possibly need was made available to us. The ease with which all those full English breakfasts were cooked, kept warm and then devoured was a testament to the kitchen and all its equipment. On Friday night we enjoyed a choice of chicken curry, chille con carne and corned beef hash and once again the kitchen made preparing and serving it so easy. It was also wonderful that we could all sit round the table and enjoy the meals together. Believe me, High Mill was the subject of the toast on numerous occasions! The bedrooms were immaculate and again well equipped with everyone enjoying the superb en suite facilities. It has to be said that after a night of sampling the local hostelries we would probably have slept well anyway but the beds were extremely comfortable and bedrooms spacious and beautifully decorated. Just exquisite! It hardly needs saying that as soon as I get the date for next year's April Wetherby race meeting I will be ringing to once again book the weekend. Simply can't wait! Thank you for a lovely quiet weekend away. We take a lot of weekends away and were especially impressed with the cottage and the amenities. Perfect location! Alex & Sarah
Another excellent week's holiday. Perfect accommodation and such a friendly welcome from Cheryl and Mike. Perfect location by the railway and for the town. We keep discovering more to see and do - and hope to be back next year! Bill & Elaine, Reading
Lovely cottage, enjoyed our break with all the family. In all our years of self catering, never been in such a well equipped cottage. Jenny & John
